Show Qualities of a Chinchilla

This section of the website aims to outline the facets which we appraise chinchillas on when we judge them. The chinchilla is a beautiful animal, with perhaps the finest fur in the world, so it is with this in mind that the points we look for about chinchillas are based mainly around their fur.

When exhibiting your chinchillas, you should first abide by the NCS show rules and Code of Practice. This outlines your responsibilities in bringing chinchillas to be exhibited, such as never bringing sick, injured or distressed chinchillas to shows or events. After these rules have been followed, the following criteria are assessed for each and every chinchilla in the show, with comments made at the end of the classes regarding good and bad points for each chinchilla.
